Scandinavian and Danish Homeware based in Brisbane.
Our mission is to bring the elegance and beauty of Scandinavian and Danish Homeware into Australian homes. A Brisbane based online company specialising in high quality tableware.
Scandinavian simplicity is one of the characteristics of Ditte’s ceramics. With inspiration from Denmark, Norway and Iceland, Ditte Fischer has created her own aesthetics. The clean, understated idiom combines beautifully with discrete colour tones. The result is a collection characterised by a refined lightness and distinctive texture.
innovative products for the home
Eva Solo was established over 100 years ago. Today, the company is managed and owned by Jan Engelbrecht, who represents the fourth generation of the founder’s family. Jan’s mother is Eva, and Jan’s grandfather, is one of the company’s three former CEOs. It was Eva’s name that inspired the company’s name.
Eva Solo’s ambition is to supply emotional, high-quality and innovative products for the home. Their products express their customers’ personalities, while at the same time being innovative in terms of their design, their functionality and the choice of materials.
tradition for good craftsmanship
Skagerak is a Danish design company with roots deeply grounded in Scandinavian design and tradition for good craftsmanship. They are owned by Jesper and Vibeke Panduro, who live with their two children in the northern harbour city of Aalborg. This is where Skagerak was founded too, back in 1976, when the first dreams of making long-lasting design took form.
We know that Skagerak [ˈsɡæjɐʁaɡ] can be a little hard to pronounce; so allow us to explain what it means. From the northern tip of Denmark runs a strait connecting our little country with our Scandinavian neighbours: Sweden and Norway. That strait is called Skagerrak (with two Rs) – and historically it’s been a crucial factor in developing the Nordic region.
innovative products for the home
Broste Copenhagen is more than just interior design. It is a way of life that we are eager to share with the world around us. Therefore, we create our products to reach a wide range of customers, not just the few.
With a total of two collections every year Broste Copenhagen covers a range including candles and lanterns to tableware, home textiles and decorative items.
Our dynamic and creative team is constantly working on developing the range with respect for the fine balance between the Nordic tradition and the trends of the moment.
unique series of tableware
Annemette Kissow founded “Keramik og Glasværkstedet” (Ceramics and Glass Workshop) in Copenhagen with a group of fellow graduates from the Danish Design school.
Since 1995 she has been operating both the shop and the connecting studio, where she designs and produces her unique series of tableware in both pure white and coloured porcelain.
Being a very visual person, I can easily be inspired by nature – the textures, the shapes – the city, items I own or images from my favourite magazines, books and even talks. These impressions start to take shape in my head, giving me a certain image and feel. Sometimes I put this into a sketch, but it usually takes shape when I’m behind the pottery wheel.
